Bed and Breakfast in a beautiful Georgian house, set in two acres of south facing gardens. Broughton House is only twenty minutes drive from junction 36 of the M6, but is a world away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is the perfect place for a relaxing break, and we will do our best to make sure that you enjoy your stay. We have two bedrooms; one, in a private wing of the house, is en-suite, with a shower room on a mezzanine floor, and the second bedroom, with a big brass bed, has exclusive use of the bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities, bathrobes, DAB radios, and home made biscuits are all in your room. Breakfast is cooked on the Aga, and features locally sourced bacon and sausages, home made bread, and eggs from our own hens. Two miles to the south is Cartmel village, with it's 12th century Priory, racecourse (3 race meetings a year), Sticky Toffee Pudding shop, 4 pubs, and 2 restaurants, including l'enclume (1* Michelin, and no 2 in the 2012 Good Food Guide)
