Doncaster

Located in South Yorkshire, Doncaster was the original site of a Roman fort spanning the River Don. The city has excellent transport links via the A1, M18, M1, M62, East Coast Mainline Station and Robin Hood Airport.

Doncaster has been a centre of horse racing and breeding since the 17th century. The famous St Leger Stakes, one of the world’s oldest horse races, is run at Doncaster Racecourse in September and is now hosted in a newly refurbished grandstand and exhibition centre.

Doncaster is packed with stately homes, historic buildings and visitor attractions including Brodsworth Hall and the nearby model village at Woodlands. Visitors may also enjoy the lavish Mansion House, St George’s Minster and Conisbrough Castle.
