Lambeth
Lambeth is now commonly known as Waterloo, after the station that provides the main route from London to the South Coast. Situated on the South Bank of the Thames, Lambeth is opposite Westminster Palace and the Houses of Parliament.
Home to the London Eye, the South Bank has in recent years become a lively centre of restaurants and cosmopolitan cafes. Modern sculpture and street performers scatter the area around the Royal Festival Hall. County Hall, for many years the home of the London Council, now houses the Dali exhibition and London Aquarium, two of London’s biggest tourist attractions.
Easily reached by Tube or bus the visitors can also reach the area via the impressive Westminster or Waterloo Bridge. Both afford great views of the Thames and the Embankment. Boat trips from Westminster Pier and Victoria Embankment provide a great way to see some of London’s most impressive landmarks.
