From the North of England I was born in 1960 and grew up in Warrington a town that lived up to its name. Getting out cost me four years in the air force after which I began art-making seriously. Studying too: a philosophy degree from York was followed by doctoral research at the RCA in London. More valuable experience was had painting with and learning from artists who were better established: notably Nick Samsworth and the late Miles Richmond. I have lived in Brixton working from a studio in my home there ever since. Exhibiting in London and elsewhere around the millennium and into the 00s I had success with some of my figurative painting always the publicly acceptable face of my practice. Appropriately enough these mainly were my quasi-formulaic Heads poorly reproduced examples of which may be found elsewhere on the web. But my real work has never been properly shown. For the following reasons I argue this is the perfect time for that situation to be put right.

About Us Number 8 is a thriving community arts centre inspired and led by the people of Pershore. Our mission is to provide arts and leisure activities to the local community and beyond with the aim of improving the social well-being of the inhabitants of Pershore and surrounding areas. Number 8 offers a vibrant programme of film (with digital projection and 3D), live events (including music, theatre and dance), plus events beamed in via satellite such as ballets, operas and the National Theatre Live seasons. We run a programme of creative courses including Chance to Dance dance classes for over 55s. Number 8 also hosts a popular monthly readers' group. Within The Foyer our coffee bar gallery space we have a continuous programme of art and designer craft exhibitions and informal performances and events.

Nestled between Lincoln's spectacular Cathedral and Castle, the Little Red Gallery houses art collections from Washington Green, Demontfort Fine Art, Buckingham Fine Art, Alpha1, independent artists and up-and-coming talents. We provide a great place in Lincoln to enjoy art and to help you create your ideal art collection.
