About Us

Mongolian cashmere is among the finest cashmere in the world. The bitterly cold winters cause the goats to grow a fine fleece fur so that they can cope with temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius. The goats are herded by nomadic herders across the Mongolian tundra who live in yurts called Gers. We want to tell the ongoing evolving story of these nomadic herders and to make the connection between what we wear and where our clothes come from. Nomad Cashmere has a range of women's and men's knitwear in various colours made and finished in Mongolia. We've also introduced woven scarves in wearable everyday colours to the range. The sweater style is a crew round neck with fitted sleeved and a neat neckline. The jumpers are 2-ply, so light enough to wear all year in the UK and Ireland. Nomad scarves are woven cashmere which is more durable and comfortable than knitted cashmere. It takes 3-4 times the cashmere to make a woven garment as the weave is tighter. Unless you leave it in a cafe you'll no doubt be wearing your Nomad cashmere scarf for 20 years or more. Nomad cashmere is 100% organic and ethically sourced in Mongolia.
