Taxis in CO9

Top company, have used a couple of times and never had a issue and always on time which makes a change from other companies used!

What an awful experience. Smoky, uncomfortable taxis but the worst points were 1. They didn't turn up when booked in advance- we called and they came late but we were then late for our appointment 2. They charged us nearly double the price quoted on the phone and were completely lacking in concern when we dared to argue about the price. Never again - there are many other good taxi companies around the area

First time trying to use this company and I won't bother again. I called about 1.5 hours before I needed a pick up from our local station and they asked me to pay in advance which I was happy to do but when we got off the train at our local station the taxi wasn't there. I called and was informed that they had just finished a job but were still 15-20 mins away. The walk home takes about the same time so my husband and i just walked home in the pitch black. Rather infuriatingly, I was told I couldn't have a refund straight away and that I would need to call on the next working day to arrange this. Not happy as I paid in advance in good faith so I feel like I have been ripped off.

They are brilliant, timing, car and service quality are 5 star. Our driver Tony, was very polite and he has comfortable driving skill. Thanks for tonight.

No cab company is perfect, but they are I suppose better than walking. Especially when its raining. Or snowing. Or in a blizzard. Or something like that. Actually, or even when its too hot. They have air-con in most of their motors. Yeah OK, that ain't much use in a blizzard. But it is when its hot. Like it was a couple of weeks back. All sorts of drivers though. Some are stupid, some are OK. I spose much like any other cab company. But, unlike the previous review, I would use them again, but I wont recommend them to anyone, as if I do, they might get too busy and I might not get a cab myself.

Excellent experience with De'Vere cars taking us to the airport. The driver was lovely and chatty. Upon return our flight was delayed by 7.5 hours and the driver and I communication via Txt along the way. The driver kindly waited until we arrived. Cannot fault such and excellent service!

Can not recommend this taxi firm as they fail to turn up on time and cause our daughter nothing but stress she is often up to an hour late for college.

Well what can I say? I had fantastic service when with Alan like nothing was too much and the rest of the gang who are amazing. Since being taken over Im shocked how much they lie. They take on journeys they know they cannot do and they dont turn up when they are supposed to. When I have to book it earlier because they are late and still late makes me wonder Honestly it is not too hard to book something and promise and keep to it than being money hungry to get more clients in and sending them to another job when they are supposed to be picking me up.

As a taxi service the car was on time however the body odour of the driver made the journey very uncomfortable. I wouldnt use them again

I have used this company for years when it was owned by Alan. The new owners are terrible and unreliable. They accept every job that comes in knowing full well they will be late or not turn up. Twice I have booked them to pic me up form Braintree station and both times. I have been the last person at the station as they haven't stuck to the time, or bothered to call and say they will be late. They have made out the are waiting for me, made out traffic is delayed even made out they were dropping off at the station which were all lies. As a result and waiting 10, 15 and 20 minutes I have had to walk home. Not once did they call , not once did they apologize. Terrible cab company. Bring back alan !!!

Overcharged even though had an email which quoted the price.DO NOT USE!!!

Used Fox cars twice over the past week and I have never felt so unsafe in a cab. Neither driver could drive without either almost hitting the verge or constantly driving on the cats eyes. Deliberately pulling out in front of other cars on roundabouts. (Which I remember him doing to me in Cornard and having the cheek to put his arm out the window sticking his finger up at me when I give him a horn) i watched his speedo cruising at 37mph on a dual carriageway, and slowing down to let people in off a slip road with no other car in the outside lane, and absolutely no control of his accelerator. Generally just terrible drivers, with no awareness or consideration to other drivers.

As a wedding venue owner, Elite and Fox Cars have always been reliable and trustworthy, I would and do use them both professionally and personally for wife and family.

Telephone operator Emma was amazing candy helped us book what we needed. Drivers were courteous and on time. Fares we reasonably priced, would definitely use them again

Telephonist was rude and very unhelpful. My taxi was meant to arrive 20 minuets later but didnt show, so I contacted the company 40 mins later to which they said a taxi had arrived which it had as I was waiting outside at Z time. The man on the phone then got rude and hung up on me. Wouldnt recommend.

got quoted £38 from braintree to chelmsford mid afternoon on a sunday. got to chelmsfird for 23 pounds with another company and only cost £30 back from chelmsford using a station taxi . will avoid yello taxis at all costs in future.

Excellent Service!! Booked a Return Journey from braintree to Heathrow, both drivers were polite and helpful with our luggage.

Do not use this company, you have been warned. Booked a cab for 23:15 and after finally getting hold of them @ 23:45 we was told it arrived at 23:21. A taxi went past the house around that time but unless they expected us to jump in a moving car I don't accept that as an arrival. No call no text nothing. Can't give zero stars so 1 will have to do.

Agree with the other rating. We booked for 10.30 and it turned up at 11.25! We won't be using them again. No communication and no apology despite the same cabby on the way back! Use them if you're desperate but not otherwise.

If you don't mind a taxi turning up ten minutes or later than you ordered it then Pride cars are a good choice
