Taxis in GL52

Rang for a quote for a pick up at 11:30 on Sunday Eve for a trip of about 1 1/2 miles and was told it would be £10, then was told as it was a bank holiday it would be £14. Ended up ringing them to change the time to 11 pm and the guy turned up on time in a big Merc. When we reached our drop of I was told it would be £25, I said I'd been quoted £14 but the driver said it was £25 on his mobile phone. Not sure how his phone added a rip-off factor, but the whole thing was a rip off. I'd advise you not to use this company or pay up front if you must use them. Very disappointed! I wish I'd read all the bad reviews before I used them. Don't like being taken for a ride (pun intended) Richard Lee.

What kind of drivers do you have and what training do they even go through? Having travelled with my 1 year old baby and husband today the incident I faced was absolutely traumatic and burglary. The baby did a very tiny vomit on the way, which we took our utmost care of so that it doesn't pour oj seat nor the floor but only on our hands our dresses to save the car from getting dirty. The driver stayed numb during the incident. When we reached our destination we kept enquiring how much vomit has spilled on the car, and made up stories like his car now just smells of vomit and etc. The way he presented the whole thing with starting "this is English rule" and that he is from Afghanistan and we being Indians, needless to stay he put all his heart and effort in threatening us, harassing for a long time with us waiting with our baby and at a moment also started dragging my husband's shirt saying him if he doesn't pay extra 70 £ he will take him go police! Use this company through out lock down and still use to this day fab prices and great customer services and always made me and my family feel safe throughout the pandemic

Abbey Private Hire were on time and very reasonably priced. It's great that we have a new taxi service in Winchcombe.

Booked taxi for 8.15. No software for text service so no details of booking or vehicle. Driver arrived early and rang. Came out from restaurant. No taxi had A2B written on it. Taxi I think it was had no driver. Got in a taxi on the rank to get home. Waste of time booking taxi. No idea where he was. Dont bother booking with these guys no investment in technology. Drivers too busy talking to their mates or stuffing their face to even sit in the taxi.

My daughter called and was given a quote of 28£ for a journey to Gloucester train station. When the guy turned up he said that he did not know anything about the price and that the journey was on the meter that would be about £40. The company admitted to make a mistake but refused to do anything about it and called me 'rude' when I said that I would share my bad experience with the public. Unreliable and unwilling to take responsibilities for their mistake is my experience.

I have been using astar since they first started and haven't had any problems, always on time, drivers are friendly and you can always have a laugh with them, prices are really good, won't use a different company now
