Taxis in IP9

Safe to say that I will not be using Avenue Taxis ever again. After booking a taxi 50 mins before my train was due (which I believed to be plenty of time having made the journey with other providers over 20 times), I was told it would arrive in 10 minutes. 3 calls later (in which it was still claimed to be 10 mins away), 35 minutes down the line and I'm still waiting for my taxi. I have just exited my road in the taxi as my train is leaving the station. Fantastic! I have to then proceed to buy a new train ticket at triple the cost and the taxi firm have since not offered anything. Instead, they have blamed me for leaving it to the last minute and recommended that I book the taxi when I book the train tickets. I have to book train tickets 6 weeks in advance due to the cost so it isn't feasible. In summary, a shambles of a company who aren't delivering any type of service let alone a good one. If you want to be horrendously late and miss connections, then this taxi firm is for you!

Avenue are not fit for purpose. The drivers are fine but the controllers are rude and abusive. I have never been so insulted, despite formally using the company many times each week. Best avoided

Awful service and experience.

Booked a taxi to celebrate our office Christmas event and when we called Avenue Taxis at 2:04pm to ask where they were, we were told our driver was just around the corner and pulling in. We then called again at 2:09pm and were told there was no record of our booking. Then we were told they had it but the driver had driven off and put us down as a no-show (despite the fact the same taxi company had actually driven us to the restaurant in the first place). Then the manager of the drivers, David Meer, told us the driver refused to come back again and that they would have to get us another car. This eventually turned up so late we got to our massage 20 mins late. Shocking & won't use again for business or leisure purposes!

Booked a taxi to pick me up from xmas party on Thursday. Taxi left me the last person in the building on Saturday had to phone to remind them that I had booked taxi, was thirty minutes late 12.50, not professional. Will not use again.

Told a journey would take 4 mins then told will take 12 and the meter was going up by the second ipswich to ipswich journey £20 shocking

Booked them for a pick up last week, didn't arrive and were very rude and abusive on the phone when I called to ask where they were. Just no need for the aggressive attitude, I would say avoid as there are plenty of other companies about.

A lovely, family owned business. I use Riverside Taxis a lot and have found that they will always go the extra mile to help you if they can. They are very reliable and have friendly drivers. Highly recommended.

Most recent experience was waiting for me whilst on a delayed train from London. The original pick up was scheduled for 12:30am where I actually arrived at 02:30am. Ash kept in touch and still met me otherwise I would have been stranded.

Best company in manningtree! Friendly realiable & very likeable drivers to! Also clean cars with nice smells! Will def be making this my taxi company to use! Thank you riverside taxis!

Shocking service, don't know why I still use them. Book a taxi and then always a no show. Phone operator to be told driver hadn't been dispatched...it's a booking? Don't take the booking if you haven't actually got a driver!! Plans ruined once again because Hawk can't operate a decent service...one job to do!!

My drivers are so polite and the cars are spotless as well. They are very smartly attired and happy to converse on the journey as well even at 5.20 am in the morning or 8.20 in the morning to ipswich railway station, I was using another company as cheaper but I use them all the time now.

Rude women wouldn't move only a little forward when I asked her as waiting behind her for a few mins so I could park in a car space out side My house as she was blocking car park, she only had to move a little, but no, but it was OK for me to reverse for her once she picked up her fair!!!

This taxi firm takes advantage of vunrable elderly people thats just left hospital after heart problems. Driver made out he didnt know where he was going and strung out the ride as they wasnt busy. Ipswich hospital to Felixstowe beach holiday park he was going to be charged £55! I called and asked how much the same journey was and was told £22! This taxi firm are low lifes!

Everything went perfectly! Incredibly punctual, friendly drivers, and a very fast customer service that answered my questions within minutes the night before my return trip. I highly recommend booking here, and will definitely do so again in the future.

I used Universal Cabs on my last trip and I was very impressed with their service. The driver was on time, very polite and well dressed. The car was clean and well ventilated. Had a very pleasant journey and definitely worth the money. Their customer service representatives are amazing, they helped me during the booking process and even called me a day before to make sure I still needed the car (taking into consideration the actual situation). They were very patient and friendly, it was a pleasure to speak with them. I will use this company again.

Possibly the worst cab firm in Suffolk. Some of their drivers are incredibly rude and don't seem to mind overcharging. I wouldn't recommend using this firm if you want to arrive at your destination on time!

Booked a taxi the previous night for a 7.30 am pick up. Got a phone at 7.10 am saying that they could not meet the booking and the person who accepted it should not have. First and only time I will attempt to use them.

Terrible service, got my whole journey wrong and dropped me in a completely different town which I did not know, when I phoned back all I got was a woman making excuses trying to tell me it was my fault, wouldn't recommend, I will certainly never use them again!

Said I wanted a taxi for new years and they hung up straight away and I heard a sigh, didnt even have the decency to say they were fully booked

Unreliable. We booked a taxi for the next day. It didn't turn up. We phoned to ask where our taxi was. They denied any knowledge of our booking. We missed our train. Not good. One of the ladies managing the bookings was fractious and unhelpful. Shame because the taxi drivers were just fine.
