Good luck trying to plan any journey their app always lies about estimated time, 4 min wait expect 30 mins before pick up. Pre book? Expect no car and call up to be put to the back of the queue.

I wondered about the many negative reviews here but decided to try Z Cars anyway. First two journeys were OK. Then today it happened. Had booked 2 pm collection from my village to Northgate station. At 2 pm driver called and asked if 25 minutes late was OK. I said no, I have to catch a train. He said he will cancel then and hung up on me immediately. Called dispatcher who was utterly rude and unhelpful. Am warning whole village to avoid Z cars and DG cars (same company).

I use these as normally is works out cheaper but I'm disgusted that they are always late due to not being able to find a driver. I'm currently sat waiting for my taxi to work and even booked it half an hour before I start just incase. Absolutely disgusting and never using again!!!!!! Don't offer a service you can't follow through on!!!!

I have read it in the previous reviews, but didnt listen. This company is detrimental. Live booking and Pre-Booking gets you late all the time because they are disorganised and come SUPER late! They keep changing the minimum fair. Dont dare paying with card via the app or link because they collect more money without your permission/knowledge. You call them for inquiry - they re-direct you to their email but nobody is answering emails.. Disgusting behaviour and attitude from most cab drivers and the company.

Unprofessional and no morals, leaving 2 young girls stranded in the early hours after finishing work in the hospitality business is unacceptable and morally wrong, i appreciate it is a business however the consequences of the drivers actions left two vulnerable girls in a town that has a recent history of assaults on young women. It is not acceptable. When accepting a fare you should honour it regardless to ensure their safety.i get they were late due to unforeseen circumstances and events out of their control. As a taxi driver you have a duty of care no genuine driver would leave 2 young girls vulnerable.

Please don't ever use this company there service is terrible. I booked them the night before to take me to work at 6.20am a 2 minute journey down the road to Newark Hospital. At 6.30am they weren't here I called said 5mins away. Call again 10 mins later said the driver was dropping off at Newark Castle Station would be 5mins they said have trouble with staff on a Friday as Muslims don't work on a Friday. Called again 5 mins later told he was on Bowbridge Road who would come that way from Castle Station to Hawtonville!said he would be then 15 minutes. He arrived at 7am and charged me nearly £7 for a 2 minute journey. I was very late for my shift and to boot in trouble they are jokers unprofessionall and upmost liars don't use them!!!!!!!!

Worst taxi company in the world. Pre booked a taxi for a Saturday night. Never turned up having taken payment on booking. They made up an excuse that they dont operate in that area which they do. Only called to tell us this half an hour after the pickup time. Left two women alone near midnight in the countryside. No apology given. Rude and useless.

If i could rate 0, then I would! Left 2 females stranded in an unfamiliar place, twice they let us down, 1030 pick up, confirmed at 9 just to ensure all ok, yep all good, several calls after 1030, taxi is on way, 1105, no taxi assigned. Promised that my Pm pick up at 2315 would be there, called at 2305 just to check, again, yep on its way, several calls later yeah 5 mins, 10 mins, then to be told, no taxis available and we was looking at 0010, alone in the middle of nowhere. Please please please dont put yourselves in this situation, anything could happen! Note for next time, do not use Zcars even if you do prebook!

The driver, poor chap, was absolutely lovely. The control room were appalling. Despite giving them the correct postcode, confirming the village name at least five times and confirming the postcode via the appthe controller somehow sent the driver to the wrong location 6 miles away from where we were. We could see on the tracker they were young the wrong way so rang to confirm again to be told it would be fine, if the postcode was correct he would find us. It wasn't fine. They charged £55 upfront and then tried to charge us more when they realised they were in the worng place! In reality they should have given us a discount as we were closer to their starting point. Shocking. I'll walk next time

Dreadful customer service. I was travelling back from Newark to a nearby village, on a Sunday afternoon and before we were allowed to begin our journey, the driver asked for payment up front. I was absolutely astononished as to why they felt that this was necessary. I'm 59 years old, my wife is the same and my parents in law are in their early 80's. We were all really offended and my mother in law was visibly upset. Please avoid Z Cars if you have a choice

Absolutely awful service, using their app on mobile, double checking by calling the same evening, all confirmed, taxi does not arrive at the specific time, no notification from their part, called them, not polite and no detail about what time the taxi will arrive. I would suggest if you are heavily relying on a taxi company not to use these cowboys. This has happened three times out of severn. Now busy seeking a local business to satisfy my requirements.

We ordered a taxi to a wedding and a return later that night. I pre paid as this was a requirement from Z Cars of the booking. The first taxi was 15 mins late with no acknowledgement or apology (we almost missed the start of the wedding as a result), and for the return leg no taxi turned up. I tried calling the central line but could not get through to anyone and was put through to an automated message each time. I then got a call after the taxi was already 15 minutes late to say that no taxis were available (Id pre booked and pre paid) and if I still wanted a taxi it would be a minimum wait time of 25 additional minutes. I was also asked to change my booking at this point to two separate taxis and to pay for an additional taxi at this cost! It was unacceptable and we had no other options that time of night. Taxi eventually arrived 50 minutes late and immediately said we needed to “be quick as he was busy” after wed been waiting for 50 mins for him. Absolutely shocking service.

Appalling and rude customer service. Failed to turn up for a booking made 24 hours in advance. Not for the first time! Two operators were VERY rude and unhelpful. I am 70 years old and frail. They pretended not to understand my English and I then responded in Urdu.........the native language of the two operators. They then refused to understand that. My Urdu is perfect! They do not provide the service they are licenced to give and should have their licence revoked. I will report them to the licencing authority.

Lots of negative reviews I was unsure who to book, every other firm said 1 hour wait. I then rang z cars and It took them 20 minutes to pick me up which was more then reasonable at peak time, driver was lovely and assisted with my bags. Will he using them again until they give me a reason not to!

At 1am I ordered a taxi for 6am. It didn't turn up. After being on hold for over 5 mins a very sarcastic woman answered and said she would see where the driver was. I know where he wasn't and that was with me. She then said he might not be able to make it. I told her to forget it and got my bike out. Driver text me at 6.27 asking where I was as he was outside. I was hardly going to hang about and be late for work. What rubbish. A stupid company who obviously don't communicate with each other. A complete waste of my time. Never use this company they don't care if you are late because of them. Utter waste of space. They need closing down.

Pre booked ahead with this so called Taxi firm as we where traveling to a wedding and required picking up from stubton hall after the reception at 00.30 hours received a confirmation via WhatsApp message several days before with a ref No and the details of time and pickup ....We stood outside the hall in the freezing cold for almost 90mins waiting for these Goons to show.Tried several times to contact them but to no avail ....Avoid at all costs totally unreliable .We finally got back to our accomodation around 2.15am due to the kindness of one of the staff at Stubton who lived in the area and gave us a lift in her own car back to Claypole village ....what was a fantastic day was spoilt at the end with this bunch of idiots who clearly deserve all of the negative reviews ...They also come under several different names DG taxis and Trent taxis,.....dodgy outfit AVOID .

Do not use this taxi service! You have been warned. Booked a taxi to bring us back from a wedding. The taxi turned up over 45 minutes late with no apology at all. When I called after we had been waiting 30 minutes I asked them where our taxi was and they said it was busy tonight and could not give me a time - we just had to wait! Shocking service. My friend had a 2 year old and we were waiting outside for 45 minutes. When it did eventually arrive, the driver was rude. He sat on his phone for about 5 minutes and we had to ask him to start driving. He then drove us a very long route back. On the way there it took 7 minutes and this journey took about 20. Either he had no idea about the local area or he was purposely ripping us off because we were not local. Shockingly poor and rude service. Should really not be allowed to operate. Do yourself a favour and choose a different taxi service - or walk. It will be quicker!

Absolute rip off merchants!!! I booked a taxi a week in advance as I was staying in Southwell going to a wedding in Morton as well one for the return journey later that day Well Haseeb whom seemed lovely on the phone obviously heard the London accent and decided to TRIPLE the price!! I think the icing on the cake was when he added he may have to add a couple of quid more for the return journey as he may have to call another driver from another area like charging three times as much wasn't enough. SERIOUSLY?????? Do you think people don't talk to each other !!! I duly cancelled both trips and used an honest company Minster Cars - BE WARNED!!!!!!!!

Thanks for turning up when you were meant to. I booked the service 2 hours before and they still couldn't make that. To top it off, they didn't even ring. I've missed a meal with friends and now the husband's got to drive. To top it off the lady on the phone (that tried to be lovely and got the brunt end of my agro) said, "I am sorry for this issue, but it is really busy tonight!" Well don't take too many bookings then. Incompetent service that I can guarantee I won't be using again.

Just can't believe some of the reviews I've just read here. I used Z Cars extensively over my three day stay in Newark and the service was pretty faultless. I am disabled - although I never mentioned this when booking - so I needed a car even to move myself a couple of hundred yards. On every occasion, I was picked up at the time specified. Worst cab firm I have ever experienced, pre booked a cab hours before and pre paid and got left stranded at 3am in the morning as no one came. I again called them at 6am hoping to catch another driver and they sent another out which the driver again didn't show. I assume they have now blocked my number as they do not answer to me any longer and they have my money (over priced also) I would give 0 star if I could, they really screwed me over I ended up sleeping outside on my own for ages in the cold

We booked with z cars Newark several days before traveling. We booked a pick up from the Newark Northgate station to a camping festival. We had to wait for over an hour to be picked up. By the time the taxi arrived after repeated phonecalls, we hit rush hour on a Friday. We were quoted £8 but it cost us £17. Also, my daughter who has autism was on the verge of having a meltdown. Will never use again.

Weve been completely messed around by Z Cars Newark today - we booked one this morning a good 3 hours in advance, only for it not to show up. When it eventually did, the driver explained that the office booked it for an hour later. We made the stupid mistake of booking them again for our route back - booked half an hour in advance and we are still waiting (20 minutes later) in the freezing cold. Dont waste your time - use a company that is worth the service.

Ued Zcars for over 5 years, I can confirm they are often very late, as over 30 minutes and are not apologetic about it . I was advised by one of their own drivers never to book them if I need to arrive on time , as they send the cars off after the agreed time of arrival. They do not text or call to say that for some reason the driver will be late , instead you call the call center and they keep confirming they are just "a few minutes away " . Today they were 40 minutes late for a ride booked hours in advance and even their call center confirmed the car was not sent until minutes after it was supposed to be there.Their call center told me this is the system used by all taxis in this country and that if I want to be on time , not to rely on taxis. I do second his opinion one should not rely on Zcars taxis if would expect a taxi not to be 30 to 50 min late , but as for the "country" part , I would advise to talk to Yellow Cars and see if they can do a bit better.

1 star is 100% too much! expensive, arrogant and incompetent. We ordered, over the phone & received text confirmation of booking of a six seater taxi for Saturday evening. 5 minutes after the planned arrival time we started to try to contact the office. We were told it is a busy time & they would try to get a taxi to us. Eventually 2 taxis turned up expecting double the amount of A N other taxi to do the same journey! Shocking service. Absolutely disgraceful. Will not use again.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS Honestly we didnt read the reviews online, booked them in advance for a drive to a family wedding. When they were 5 minutes late we called and were told '5 minutes', waited 5 minutes and called back again '15 minutes' etc etc. Repeat until we're an hour late and we give up.. if they had told us initially we would've booked another taxi. Awful service, awful customer service (when I called and asked to speak to the manager the next day they left me on hold for 33 minutes whilst they 'found them'). DO NOT TRUST DO NOT USE.

I will never book a taxi from this company again. I have booked a cab and was assured that it will be on time. Not only that they did not let me know that the cab is going to be late (half an hour late !!!) they were very unpleasant and I was late for work. Office did not even bothered to answer my call. The driver did not know how to get to our destination so I had to pay almost double as he was going the wrong way. It was not the first time when it happened. If you have a choice CHOOSE DIFFERENT COMPANY!!!

Not even worth one star! Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish!!!! Booked a taxi in plenty of notice for an early train departure. Even received a text notification. No taxi came! Called and the person put me on hold 3 times! In the end we had to walk to the train station with our cases as couldnt afford to miss the train! 40 mins later received a text message to say its on its way! Z Cars you are a joke! Absolutely disgusting service and not even an apology! You dont deserve to be a taxi service. Your customer service is atrocious! Cowboys! Book these and youll be very disappointed! Driver took longer route, stole money off me threatened me with police. Trading standards called, do not use this company. They used an app on mobile to overcharge me not a legal recognised taxi meter, as recognised by British government and trading standards.
