Taxis in WN3

I have used this firm on and off for about ten years. Yesterday I ordered a cab, the operator said it would be 10-15 minutes, but didn't show up after half an hour. I called to be told it was just round the corner. After waiting another 10 mins I got a call from the driver to signal that he had arrived but no taxi pulled up outside. I waited a moment then went outside of the garden to look down the road and saw a taxi backing out of a side street and pull away. I called the operator to tell them the taxi had gone to the wrong address, they told me he hadn't! The driver maintained that he had been to the house when he hadn't. After waiting and hour and twenty in total, and with no other taxis available I had no choice but to walk home alone at 11.15pm taking fifty minutes. I have never dealt with such poor service, both from the lying driver to the operator who simply kept repeating that the driver had been to the house when I actually saw him drive off from further down the road.

Where do I start? The 1 star is for the lovely driver who drove the minibus to our destination. He was 10 minutes late but we could cope with this. We had booked the minibus two days prior to our function. We confirmed again that we were to be picked up at midnight. This did not happen. 1 of our party rang at 11.30 to see if we could get it any sooner as our function had finished. We were told that it couldn't but would get to us as soon as possible. Stood outside from 11.45. At 12.10 we rang the company to see were it was and they told us it was just clearing a job and would be with us in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later still no minibus! We rang again and the owner answered and told us we would have to wait. He give us a new address that the minibus was clearing and he would be 10 minutes. You've guessed it. 10 minutes later and no minibus. Re-rang and was told he would ring us. After 1 hour waiting we made alternative arrangements. Owner was rude, abusive and had no customer service.

Absolute rubbish!! Booked a taxi for the airport the night before. All seemed fine until the time we booked it for 03.30 am rang the company after waiting 10 mins. Told that there was no one on the way and no guarantee that there would be one either. Funny how that wasn't mentioned when we booked it. Was also told that that was a company policy.

Booked a taxi for 8.10 am the night before and was told at the time of booking that they would try to be as near to this time as possible and stated school runs as the reason why, even though it was school holidays at this time. So I thought even if they are 15 minutes late I will still be on time. The following morning at 8.30 still no taxi so I rang them and was told it would arrive as soon as they could but was not given a time. 8.50 still no taxi rang again and was told the same thing again. 9.10 still no taxi rang again and was told the same again. The taxi finally arrived at 9.20 so I was really late for work. This company never had any intention of arriving at 8.10 or anywhere near that time. I was told that I should have known because I was told that it may be late. No one books a taxi knowing it will be an hour and 10 minutes late! At no time did I get an apology. Absolute waste of time and you should use someone else. No customer care whatsoever.

Pre booked a taxi for 8am this morning on Saturday night no sign of taxi at 8.15 called company was told they was busy and one would be here soon. 8.21 I cancelled and had to call my boss to explain. DO NOT USE

My daughter was feeling unwell and it was raining so we rang to try and get a taxi very accommodating radio controller helped us straight away very grateful for the service

Used Hindley taxis for first time on Saturday. Went for night out with disabled husband and friends. Left cushion for his wheelchair in boot of taxi. The following evening came a knock on our door and it was the taxi driver who had found our cushionand brought it back to us. Thank you for fantastic service.

50 mins wait for a taxi to airport.....4 chase calls...each time it's 5 mins away.....

HINDLEY TAXIS IS A GREAT TAXI SERVICE,WITH FRIENDLY AND HONEST DRIVERS..

I personally live in Hindley and wouldn't use anyone else. Come when u expect them. Great for airport runs too :) thumbs up from me

Never use this firm, booked a taxi nearly 8 hours in advance, to Wigan NW train station It never arrived, phoned the firm and left messages, no one called back or texted. I missed my train and my friend missed his last bus home. Total disgrace.

I have NEVER been let down by this company. They are the only taxi firm who are able to take me to work any time I ask and have enough drivers to also cover their school runs, when I have no car. Reasonable prices. All the drivers are very friendly. I wont use anybody else.

30 mins late being picked up. I don't mind 5 or 10 mins but 30 is too much.

Phoned 14 times this morning (9am) in a vain attempt to book a taxi. No one answered. I can only assume they weren't open but I wouldn't know as there are no opening times online. Abysmal service if you can call it a 'service'. I ended up missing my train and walking in the pouring rain to the station.

What a bunch of tossers drivers ok owners jumped up pricks

Pre-booked a cab for my daughter's swimming lesson for 4:10....lesson at 4.30. At 4.20 no taxi...I called to find out where it was but there was no answer - I can only assume caller id!!!...neighbour saw distraught daughter and offered us a lift - she got in the pool 5 minutes late for her 30 min lesson. Received a text saying your car has arrived, at exactly 4.30....the time her class starts...if my kind neighbour had not given us a lift it would not have been worth going! I called Avacab to advise them of such....the call handler...who I have discovered is the boss' son sarcastically stated without any hint of an apology "thanks for letting us know you no longer wanted the cab" In calm mono tone I replied "I pre-booked it for 4.10, thank you for letting me know it was running late" To which the fantastic customer service continued....in that he hung up the phone on me! Use Zcars! No issues with any drivers just call handlers! Straw that broke the camels back! :-/

Very poor services book taxi night before for Hospital appointment didnt turn when called said it was on its way where from only live two mins away. Will not use again.

£10 for a FIVE minute journey to Chorley. If I had been going to town centre I would of understood but I didn't even go nearly that far lol???? And it was 30 minutes late. Laughable, they still expect you to pay full price for a crap service yet any other business in the world you wouldn't. First and last time I use these.

Booked a taxi 2 hours in advance and it didnt turn up. Phoned up and they had forgot I'd booked, said he'd have a taxi with me in 5 minutes. Had to ring again and eventually it arrived 25 minutes late. Dont bother using these, use metro or triple zero instead.

Great taxi service! And a huge thank you to the courteous gentleman for transporting and looking after my elderly father on Christmas day and ensuring he got home safely.

My taxi was a little late yeah a tad but i felt so comfortable and relaxed with Roy my driver

Can't comment on their timekeeping yet,but the lady who took my call was very polite and helpful.If they are on time and the minibus is spotless as promised they will prove a fantastic coice

Gave 1* because thats the lowest I could give. Called two hours before to pre book, was asked if Id allowed plenty of time as Im catching a train (I allowed 45 minutes) for my train from Wigan. Called when they were five minutes late and was told theyre late because Im all the way in billinge, despite pre booking two hours prior. Was told by the rude lady that the driver needs to make a living so hes not going to come early. Wont be using again, avoid.

Tried them twice. Booked for a taxi to take me to train station for my train to airport. Told them I had a train. I left plenty of time. They were still so late I missed my train and with the next one nearly an hour layer, it then made me last minute to get to the airport and through security. Next time they were late and I missed my train I had a pretty booked seat for. Both times no apology and made journeys very stressful. Will not use again.

Ordered taxis on Thursday for Sat night 7pm taxi came 7.15pm Had booked a return taxi also on Thursday for Sat from Best western Pimbo to Mount at Orrell for 11pm it arrived at 11.40pm after 2 phone calls to them to be told twice its doing a drop off then on its way Customer service not good enough as found out after they had 9 taxis picking up in Manchester at a rave so why !!!! Book taxis early with this firm to be messed about not good enough wont use them again

Useless company!! whats the point in having an app when the cars that you have pre booked don't turn up! Rude lady in the office too!! AVOID at all costs. APP deleted.
