About Us As a business we pride ourselves on our professionalism and specialist knowledge. We operate as a team with a friendly and practical approach. We aim to work in an open and honest environment where approachability and communication are central to team success. A high percentage of Philip's work within Wotton Auction Rooms is received by recommendation. Philip has spent all his working life in the world of Antiques and Auctions, his parents were book dealers from Burford in Oxfordshire so even school holidays were often spent at sales. Our philosophy here is to work hard and be kind, often working alongside clients who have reached a crossroads in their lives, perhaps a bereavement, or relative going into care, perhaps downsizing or have just had a conversation with their children and realised that they don't want anything from the old family house! Whatever the reason the situation is dealt with both sensitively and with the clients best interests at heart, these sales have become something of an institution and well regarded by both the trade and private purchaser. When not dealing with the day to day dealing of the business, Philip is a contributor to the Antiques Roadshow, while the Antiques Roadtrip and other well known TV programmes film at these fine old buildings. Evenings and weekends often include Charity Auctions, lectures and after dinner speaking. Philip is supported at the Auction by a small team of hardworking and loyal staff, always happy to help with any questions you may have.
