Modernised a 1950 bungalow. Knocked out large brick fireplaces and made good. Refitted a bathroom, Cloakroom and a Kitchen plus utlity. Redecorated.He was on site checking progress and made sure the site was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Stuck to his quotation. Lots of experience.

Our community hall employed Handford Construction recently to complete a range of storage cupboards. From the outset, the company was professional, the quote was detailed, and communication was good during the works when there were any issues to discuss. We were very pleased with the completed works and the final invoice was as expected with no "hidden extras". Everything left clean and tidy.

Bal did a brilliant job renovating our semi-detached house and building a side and rear extension. We were really impressed with the way Bal and his team worked on the project. His team was there Monday to Saturday for 15 weeks working really hard to get the job done on time and in budget. Their work was of high quality and they tidied up every day. Bal always listened to what we wanted and offered great advice to help us design of the inside of the house. We were really happy with final result and want to thank Bal and his team for building our dream house. I would highly recommended them.

We can honestly say Bal did a fantastic job. From the moment he first met us to discuss the project, Bal showed an genuine interest. His extensive knowledge of the building trade earned our confidence in him to complete the project in time and budget. Bal was in constant contact with us throughout every stage of the building works, making sure that our requirements (and building regs) were met. In fact we included some of Bal's suggestions into the design of the interior. The same guys in Bal's team came every day and worked tirelessly for 15 weeks, six days a week from 7:30 to 5pm. They were professional, friendly and always tidied up at the end of the day. The quality of their work was first rate. My ridge tiles blew off in the recent storm, so I got Mark from thomson local.He was straight talking, which I like, an came round that day to put them back on till he could do perm job. His builders came today did great job, were very polite an left no mess would definetly recomend Mark.

Very bad experience. Took plans said quote would be ready in 10 days. 2 months later nothing then he popped up. Came a couple of times said don,t worry I will not forget you never seen him since now about 7 months ago.So would NOT recommend this builder

I would not recommend using this company. After paying to have a water leak fixed it is still leaking and when i ask them to return to take another look at it they say next week every time.I have done this 5 times.

After a previously awful experience with a cowboy firm, we were very nervous to begin another house extension. We were recommended Chirton Builders as theyd been labelled high quality and most importantly trustworthy. This is exactly what we found Phil and the team to be. They built us a 2 story extension and did some knock through works in the rest of the house to open things up a bit. Yes there were some unexpected delays and some stumbling blocks, but the communication was always there from Phil and ultimately as a customer whose home and life savings are in the hands of a stranger - communication and trust is key. I cant fault them there. The standard of the work was very high quality, and there were a few chops, changes and additions that we decided upon last minute which Phil and the team took in their stride and delivered upon. I would recommend this firm to anyone, and we will more than likely instruct them on any future works we do to our home. Thank you Phil and team.

Chirton Building Company has just finished a small extension to Upavon Chapel which is a Grade II Listed Building. The work done is of excellent quality and we are really pleased with the finished results. It was a tricky site due to the proximity of a graveyard at a higher level, but Phil and his team sorted out all the challenges in a professional way. They also showed great care in protecting the chapel itself at all times. Thank you for a good job well done!

Phil Newman and his team are a first rate building outfit with a real specialisation in cellar conversions. They converted an 800 sq foot cellar from a damp space that could not be used for anything other than wine storage to a superb home cinema, gym and utility space incorporating natural light, an innovative removable staircase balustrade, totally waterproof tanking and ventilation to every room. The price was super value for money, Phil's team of Richard, Martin and Simon are A grade craftsmen and always cheerful. Phil is very honest and professional. I am delighted with their work and its added huge value to our house and the way we live in it. I cannot recommend Chirton builders highly enough.

We have had significant work done on our old cottage over many years by Chirton Building Company. From significant structural rebuilding and dampproofing, through new windows and external doors, to new heating system (including underfloor), plumbing, electrics, insulation on solid walls, replacement floor tiling, painting and decorating. Throughout, Chirton Building Co have been excellent. Very good communication at all times, very good and conscientious workmanship, all carried out in sympathy with the building. We would thoroughly recommend without reservation.

After we were let down by two other Builders we found Chirton. Phil was very helpful and Richard and Martin and cleaned up after work everyday.The whole team were professional, respectful and polite. Darren has just completed a patio which has transformed a previously unused part of my garden. Daren and his assistant Gerwyn just completed a 2m high, 14.5m long garden party wall construction in double concrete block at my house in Blackwood. Having interviewed several builders, I knew within minutes of him measuring up the site and beginning to discuss our options that whatever his price, Darren would get the job. He is keen, fair and calculated on pricing and accurate in his estimating. He is open minded and willing to think about how best to achieve the optimum result that is what he and Gerwyn achieved. They are an excellent working team and I unhesitatingly recommend D J Hopkins building services. Darren is only interested in executing the best work. My advice is don't mess him around on price, he is completely trustworthy and don't look for the cheapest option, he is not the cheapest but he is the best because he is intelligent and skillful. He enjoys working with architects and I enjoyed working with him. Five stars...a breath of fresh air in the Valleys.

Darren has just completed our home and garden renovation works and we couldnt be happier.
