Hubert Swainson Funeral Services Ltd are experienced funeral directors who have been at the heart of the local community for over one hundred years, helping those who have suffered bereavements to say goodbye to their loved ones with dignity. At Hubert Swainson we guide you through the process of saying goodbye to your loved one, at a time when it can often be difficult to make decisions. With experience in every circumstance of loss, we offer consideration and discretion, giving support and advice when needed, standing back when appropriate and lighting a clear path through the difficulties, sadness and stress that a death leaves behind. From the moment our services are requested, the personnel at Hubert Swainson are completely available to you for funeral arrangement. We use your guidance to arrange everything including orders of service, choice of vehicles, flowers, refreshments, memorials etc. We respond to calls 24 hours a day and will attend the place of death, immediately if requested, to remove the deceased to our Chapel of Rest or to hospital if required. We will always be here to help and care when you need it most.

We used Hubert&Swainson Funeral services in Sept 2024. They were extremely kind & professional, yet after expressing my gratitude via their email contact address, of which I received no response, I also asked a general question, to which I also received no response. I now have the impression, that after the event of a funeral, they have no further need to care about the customer, so therefore cut all contact. I was in no way going to prove myself a nuisance by persisting, but it left me with a bad feeling that the initial respect we experienced before the funeral, was no longer necessary once they'd taken our money. I know this is a business, but it worried me enough to say, that I hope they respected my father's body more than they respected me after the event, when they refused any acknowledgement of my later praise & question via email. I may also note, that the coffin was quite damaged, but in our grief we chose to ignore this fact. Nevertheless, I do find it all rather concerning.
