About Us

Brooke Ceramics is the UK's largest independent tile and bathroom store based in Hull, East Yorkshire. Our mission is to make beautiful tiles and bathrooms affordable by bringing the latest fashions at the best prices directly to our customers. The family business is now into its third generation having grown from an ironmongery store opened by Ernest Brooke way back in 1925. As the business prospered, Ernest opened more stores before the Second World War during which one was bombed and destroyed. Following the war, Ernest's son Reg returned from the Merchant Navy and continued to expand the business. Reg's son Geof joined the business in 1981 and made a bold decision to shift from general hardware to tiles and bathrooms. Building on his grandfather's legacy, Geof began Brooke Ceramics in 1988 and opened the showroom in 1993. Following an extension in 2005, the Hull showroom became the UK's largest and now houses over 100 fully tiled bathroom displays. The trends and prices may have changed since Ernest's day but the ideas are the same; stock what customers want at affordable prices while serving them with a smile.
