Shocking. My friend tortoise got attacked by a fox and a lady found it who then handed it to another person that would take it to this Vets. They put the animal to sleep for being a 'stray and injured' without giving the owner a chance to reunite. When the Owner turned up at the clinic She gets told that her beloved pet has been put to sleep. The tortoise wounds appeared treatable. I don't believe this practice should be seeing exotic pets if they can't offer care in emergency situations. This pet should have been referred instead of been put to sleep . Absolutely appalling. My friend and her children are absolutely devastated

Hadnt visited since 2020 - now owned by a larger company so prices seem to have rocketed. Very unprofessional from my experience. Would not recommend now.

I have always found the whole team very friendly and helpful. Some frustrations with the telephone wait during Covid restrictions, but worth persevering.

I have put no stars as I feel that , that mark s as high as they could aspire to. If one Is organising a list of friendly, organised and an efficient veterinarian service. Put this practice at the bottom of the list and if there are new entries keep this surgery at the bottom. If I couldnt organise this practice better then I would be ashamed of myself . Phone almost permanently engaged and operators rude. As for the efficiency I hope if you ever darken their doors which I never will you receive a more honest diagnoses than I did.

Still a good Vets overall. Definitely a problem with their phones though; yesterday, was holding for 1 hour -listening to the "your call will be answered shortly" recorded message -then gave up. Can't get through today either. No email address given on their website -so can't contact them that way. Politeness of reception staff? Depends who happens to talk to you.

Pet owner in Kent - 6 Sep 21
We have used Mead vets for many many years and unfortunately recent experiences has seen a decline. Inexperienced or possibly not sufficiently trained reception staff and long wait times upon arrival to obtain medication and to be seen with our pet by the vet, 45 mins wait outside. Apparently only one vet in attendance who did not come across entirely professional in both appearance and manner. No update during waiting outside on how long we would be kept waiting. Our pet has been seen there regularly and a recent oral diagnosis was a surprise under the circumstances, we were surprised previous check hadnt picked up on the condition. Im afraid we will be transferring to a new practice due to the lack of confidence now feel.

I have used this surgery in the past, and decided to return to them with my new dog, however the receptionist was so rude and unhelpful that I decided to go elsewhere. Would not recommend taking your animal here as the receptionist has no interest in trying to help, was dismissive and patronising.

The vets themselves are very polite and helpful, however I would say the communication via reception needs vast improvement here. Due to covid you have to call when outside which is fine and understandable of course. However - no one answers the phone! On one occasion I called more than 20 times to inform them I had arrived for the visit before someone bothered picking up (over the course of 35 ish minutes). This would not bode well if someone had an emergency.

Some of the receptionist are very rude, they do not let you finish speaking with your requests. they speak to you as if you are stupid which as a receptionist I find very frustrating as I am always pleasant. I recommend there should be staff training in this matter as customer service is of the up most importance.

I had emergency with my dog. Ive never come across very rude people. The reception was blunt and rude. The vet was obviously having a bad day! Didnt not even clean a open wound and give painkillers to a highly distressed dog. I had to take my dog to another vets that same night! AVOID

I took my dog Muttley to Mead vets when he went lame on a previously fractured front leg. I found the staff to be kind, caring and understanding, to me and Muttley. I thoroughly recommend this practice and will gladly use them again. Thank you for all you done. Paul p in Sidcup..

Mead Vets is an excellent vet surgery, I would not go anywhere else. I have been using them for nearly 30 years. The vet team go that extra mile and always have the time to fully explain about my cats' care and treatment. An excellent service at a sensible price and with friendly staff.

I found a stray cat in my home with a badly injured leg. I phoned the cat protection and they told me to take him to Mead vet's they had to operate on him and keep him in for three days. I found out some time later that they didn't change the cat protection any money they did it at their own expense. They have also been looking after him for the last nine years as I adopted him. Any vet's that helps charity's like this one will always get my blessing. I have three pets with them.

Best vets around. I have used them for nearly twenty years. They are kind and helpful and money is not their priority which is so refreshing. I would not go anywhere else because I have complete faith in them. Pamela Wood Hawley Kent.

I have been using The Mead Vets for 10 years now, since my first cat was very poorly when she was just a few months old. Unlike my more local vets who very clearly only wanted to make as much money out of me as possible, the vets at the Mead are so compassionate and caring. With all of my pets, we are always made to feel part of the family, the cats and rabbits always seem to charm the pants off the vets we see, make friends and are clearly loved as much as I love them. They always discuss various options for any surprise injuries we've encountered meaning we always find a medicine, treatment and price that works best for us and the animals. I can honestly say I love our vets, I don't ever hesitate to call, drop in or book an appointment because I know they have the utmost best interests for the animals and their human families first over making money which was my unfortunate experience with my previous vets. I'd give them 10 stars if I could!

Such a great Vets. Weve been going for about 20 years. Very caring and friendly. We had a cat who we frequently visited them with, and the care, attention and treatment was excellent. All the staff, from vets down to receptionists, are uniformly superb. Highly recommended.

Absolutely disgraceful service. Having to put your dog down is upsetting enough but then they keep payment for a service not carried out incredible leaving an 84 year old woman out of pocket even though they had agreed to a refund if a cremation was not carried out. Then to be told by Penny even though this was agreed at the time that the person doing so have no authority to do so. Incredible, I will not rest until a refund is issued for what was agreed. I will never ever take my animals to this practice. No care or consideration for the person, they are only interested in what money they can get Shocking shocking shocking disgusting service DO NOT USE THEM
