Darlington Borough Council is the local authority for the town of Darlington and the surrounding villages in North East England. The authority is composed of 50 ward councillors. Following the local elections in May 2019 the largest party is the Conservative group with 22 councillors. Labour now has 19 councillors, with four Independents, three Liberal Democrats and two Green party councillors.

This brand-new centre was opened in 2015 after an £11m investment and it has everything you'll need to stay active. It includes a state-of-the-art 63-station gym, as well as a 25m swimming pool that, along with its two flumes, also plays host to our award-winning swimming lessons, among other aquatic activities. We also boast a full group exercise programme, a sports hall that plays host to a number of activities - including five-a-side football and badminton - as well as two squash courts.
