Had a truly awful experience with Riviera Cars. The staff member was rude, aggressive, and swore at me in two languages impressive, if youre into that sort of thing. Their responses to negative reviews are even worse. They've named customers and their employers, and threatened to release phone recordings which sounds more like a crime thriller than a taxi service. Unsurprisingly, Ive reported them to the ICO. Theyll probably respond to this by claiming its fake they love that move. Its not. If you value basic respect and your privacy, steer well clear of Riviera Cars.

Horrible experience - do NOT use. Just had the worst taxi trip ever from these guys, driving me, wife and two small kids from Gatwick. Two minutes into the trip the driver pulled out right into fast incoming traffic at the Gatwick roundabout (slammed brakes all round - thankfully no injuries); then he drove 2 car lengths from the car in front on the motorway; he then tried to argue back when asked to leave a safe distance, and had to be firmly told a second time before complying; he continued to be erratic leaving no room for manoeuvre when an MPV switched lanes in front of him; he then undertook at speed on the motorway completely unnecessarily and dangerously; and the coup de grce was when he dropped us off at home, steadfastly refusing to help get the cases out of the car, and having the temerity to swear at us for not closing his boot. This driver might be a one-off agency contractor - but the deck of Riviera Cars business cards on the dashboard suggest otherwise. Appalling

Used Riveria in March for a collection to Heathrow with another collection on the way. For both journeys the drivers arrived on time with the right car for the luggage (cases plus a large snowboard case), the drivers helped load up and had the second address already programmed in. For the return journey our flight arrived 45 mins early so we thought we would have to hang around the airport but the driver called just as we were leaving customs to say that he had been monitoring flights and was there! Prices for both journeys were as agreed when we booked. Perfect service on both journeys. Plus - we left one of our ski helmets in the taxi on the outward journey, brand new and over £100. We thought we had lost it but Riviera kept it for us at their office and we collected it when we returned. I started using Riveria after a bad experience with another company and would now only ever use Riviera, always excellent service, with clean cars and polite and helpful drivers.
