ABOUT US North Country Leisure (NCL) is a not for profit charity, established in 1998 and we manage leisure centres and services on behalf of local councils including Copeland Borough Council, Eden District Council, South Lakeland District Council and Newcastle City Council. In 2015 NCL became a wholly owned subsidiary of The GLL Group; also a not-for-profit leisure trust and social enterprise. FACILITIES A great choice of swimming pools, lessons, courses, sports halls, fitness classes and gyms are available in Appleby, Kendal, Ulverston, Whitehaven, Penrith and across areas of Newcastle including Gosforth, Walker, Byker and West Denton. We also manage some brilliant family days out venues such as tenpin bowling centres, adventure climbing arenas, soft play areas with café and restaurant facilities on hand.
