As Chaplins approaches its 50th anniversary, this Aladdin's Cave of retail delight is still overseen by its founder Lynda Thompson whose eye for a bargain and understanding of her customers' needs have underpinned the store's success from the outset. Lynda is passionate about her plants and can usually be found in the store's extensive Garden Centre. Lynda is well supported by her daughter Vanessa Chaplin who combines buying, marketing and advertising, looking after the Christmas Grotto, and other in-store promotions with overseeing her beloved pet care department. 2015 sees Vanessa celebrating 30 years in the family business while the Taunton store has achieved its 21st anniversary at the same time.
