Houghton Sports Centre and Wellness Centre is right in the centre of Houghton Le Spring in Sunderland. It's is perfect place to visit to reach your health and fitness goals. The sports hall provides a great range of indoor and outdoor activities including first-class gymnastics, basketball, badminton and martial arts facilities. There's also a dance studio where we host a range of group exercise classes, meeting rooms, indoor bowls and a skate park. There's also an ultra-modern gym that features all the latest equipment. Furthermore, the outdoor 3G pitch can be used for rugby, football and athletics too.

New manager Deith Bridges brings with him a wealth of experience in running an independent health club having previously run a club of a similar size. "The clubs new name - part of the re brand - will be Physique," said Deith, talking about the changes ahead and the new philosophy he and his team of staff will be working to. "The re branding of the club is very simple. A lot of people think we're a boxing gym and although we can still cater for that, the club has improved and enlarged so much over the years that we're now proud to call ourselves a health club." The brothers share an interest in fitness and Boxing and when the opportunity arose for them to turn an empty industrial unit into a new business, BoxFit Health Club was born. Boxfit Health Club has a wide variety of cardio machines, free weights and resistance machines in both the main gym and also in the state of the art, ladies only, Foxfit. Boxfit Health Club has a wide range of classes available from the world wide phenomenons of the popular Boogie Bounce. Other classes such as Circuit Training, Abs, Kettlebells, Metafit, Vipr and even in house exclusive classes like The 300 and Bootcamp. Our classes are available in range of fitness levels, so if you're a beginner or at a more advanced level we have a class available in a friendly group setting to keep you motivated. Since its creation Boxfit Health Club has set itself out as a club with friendly helpful staff and trainers, who work hard to provide welcoming environment for its members to relax and enjoy a growing list of fitness classes and an ever expanding collection of resistance machines, free weights and cardio equipment. Knowing how off putting it can be to walk into a gym and have to wait to use every piece of equipment, Boxfit has pledged to place a cap on it's membership numbers to prevent overcrowding and to keep an exclusive core of members to help maintain the friendly, helpful and calm atmosphere that the club currently enjoys. The next step is to expand and add the much anticipated Sauna, Steam Room, Frost Fountain, Hot Tubs and Aroma Therapy areas to the facility.
