Situated in the area called Kings Furlong, walking distance from the top of the town is the brainchild of Mrs. Anushree Patil. Elai is a snazzy urban South Indian restaurant and cocktail bar set in the heart of Basingstoke. What sets us apart is that our restaurant is set up in a 1400 year old historical building preserved in it's pristine condition with a private room upstairs of 30 seat capacity and 100 guest capacity downstairs in four sections. We are a family run independent restaurant serving Turkish, Mediterranean cuisine. The building itself dates back 300 years and has a beautiful barn style roof and we hope we have done it justice with our new refurbishment. There is also a private room which can host parties of 10/12. The food is freshly cooked by our Turkish Chefs. You can enjoy a hot and cold meze served with the chefs homemade Turkish Pide bread, BBQ'd meats and lots of other fantastic authentic dishes from this fascinating country. The Baklava is amazing.
