Taxis in Uffculme, Cullompton, Devon

Booked a taxi with Parkway Taxis yesterday, to take us home from a rural pub after a meal. Half way through the meal they phoned to say our taxi had 'broken down' and offered various other embellishments. The reality is that once the operator (who wasn't sure of the location) handed the job down to the driver, they decided they didn't want to do it. Which is wonderful when you are through the best part of a bottle of wine so can't drive back. Thankfully the bar staff were very helpful and sorted us out. I'd like to make a few points to Parkway taxis: 1) If you don't want to take a job, just say so. 2) If you later realise you'd rather not do the job, suck it up and just do it. Be professional and don't leave people stranded. 3) If you have a genuine problem, sort it out (i.e. get in contact with the local competitors to see if anyone will fulfill the job): All we were given was the phone number of a taxi firm in Tiverton (20 odd miles away from our location, for a 2 mile journey!
