Modernised a 1950 bungalow. Knocked out large brick fireplaces and made good. Refitted a bathroom, Cloakroom and a Kitchen plus utlity. Redecorated.He was on site checking progress and made sure the site was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Stuck to his quotation. Lots of experience.

Our community hall employed Handford Construction recently to complete a range of storage cupboards. From the outset, the company was professional, the quote was detailed, and communication was good during the works when there were any issues to discuss. We were very pleased with the completed works and the final invoice was as expected with no "hidden extras". Everything left clean and tidy.

My ridge tiles blew off in the recent storm, so I got Mark from thomson local.He was straight talking, which I like, an came round that day to put them back on till he could do perm job. His builders came today did great job, were very polite an left no mess would definetly recomend Mark.

Very bad experience. Took plans said quote would be ready in 10 days. 2 months later nothing then he popped up. Came a couple of times said don,t worry I will not forget you never seen him since now about 7 months ago.So would NOT recommend this builder

Bal did a brilliant job renovating our semi-detached house and building a side and rear extension. We were really impressed with the way Bal and his team worked on the project. His team was there Monday to Saturday for 15 weeks working really hard to get the job done on time and in budget. Their work was of high quality and they tidied up every day. Bal always listened to what we wanted and offered great advice to help us design of the inside of the house. We were really happy with final result and want to thank Bal and his team for building our dream house. I would highly recommended them.

We can honestly say Bal did a fantastic job. From the moment he first met us to discuss the project, Bal showed an genuine interest. His extensive knowledge of the building trade earned our confidence in him to complete the project in time and budget. Bal was in constant contact with us throughout every stage of the building works, making sure that our requirements (and building regs) were met. In fact we included some of Bal's suggestions into the design of the interior. The same guys in Bal's team came every day and worked tirelessly for 15 weeks, six days a week from 7:30 to 5pm. Matthew removed a window and created space for a new front door with side panels. All work was completed to a high quality and on time. What impressed me most was the time taken to ensure no damage was done to all parts of the house and driveway, and the fact that they always cleaned up before they left at the end of the day. I will definitely use Matthew again and would recommend him and his teams work to anyone.

Mathew done a natural indian sand stone patio in my own house and a few steps, this was to a very high standard. Mathew and the boys are very highley qualified trades men.

Daren and his assistant Gerwyn just completed a 2m high, 14.5m long garden party wall construction in double concrete block at my house in Blackwood. Having interviewed several builders, I knew within minutes of him measuring up the site and beginning to discuss our options that whatever his price, Darren would get the job. He is keen, fair and calculated on pricing and accurate in his estimating. He is open minded and willing to think about how best to achieve the optimum result that is what he and Gerwyn achieved. They are an excellent working team and I unhesitatingly recommend D J Hopkins building services. Darren is only interested in executing the best work. My advice is don't mess him around on price, he is completely trustworthy and don't look for the cheapest option, he is not the cheapest but he is the best because he is intelligent and skillful. He enjoys working with architects and I enjoyed working with him. Five stars...a breath of fresh air in the Valleys.

Darren has just completed our home and garden renovation works and we couldnt be happier. My garden transformation is complete I had tones of gravel and grass removed... as I wonted low maintenance garden. Has been replaced with lovely Indian sandstone patios and golden gravel boarders.. and bespoke custom-made purgola which is just fantastic.. John has transformed my ok garden into my low maintenance happy place .. not my first job done by John and won't be my last if you won't hard working trustworthy good advice on time and cost affective.. get booked in you won't find better than John Meigh.

John has just completed hard landscaping of our 100 foot garden. This involved considerable amounts of groundwork and preparation, not an easy task with a garden on different levels. Extensive Indian Stone paving, building steps with brickwork and composite fencing. He also built us a really sturdy shed. His craftmanship, and attention to detail is second to none and he keeps you informed every step of the way. Highly recommend.

John has just completed the building of an extension and the fitting of a new kitchen. His advise, design, attention to detail and his craftsmanship ensured that this is a first class job. If you need any work doing to your home, John is the one to do it. I cannot fault it.

John did our roof repairs and repointing, as well as completely transforming our kitchen, involving replastering walls, new tiled floor, fitted new kitchen and appliances and did all the tiling. Really impressed with his craftsmanship and he kept us in the picture every step of the way. Highly recommend .
