Despite contacting Lh cook at short notice they came out as soon as they could and solved our boiler problem, and central heating very efficiently, the engineer was friendly, overall a great service at a reasonable price.

Kirk has dealt with all my plumbing requirements for several years now......troublesome taps, urgent replacement of leaking radiators, installation of a new boiler and radiators and boiler servicing. He is always extremely efficient, friendly and helpful, if it's a matter of urgency he always attends at impressive speed, and even if it's something really minor I know I can rely on him to sort it out quickly and efficiently.

We were very pleased with the professional service and explanation we were given when we required a new gas boiler. The work was completed to a very high standard in a very short time and with minimal mess. The house has never been so warm and we cannot believe how quiet the new boiler is.

I have been using Simon for a couple of years now for emergency call outs and Servicing for my oil boiler. His service is exceptional as he responds to any emergencies within a couple of hours as promised and his pricing is spot on. I get a 5 star service every time he maintains my boiler and I find him very polite and courteous. I would have no problem recommending Simon to anyone as a local maintenance plumber.

Positives: Answers phone and arrives promptly with no fee for visiting to provide a quote. Negatives: Odd, quite grumpy manner. Seemed unpleasantly surprised that we didnt have soy milk for his tea (!) then asked if he could have it in his flask to take away. At this point I felt like a caf rather than a prospective customer. Clearly in a hurry. Diagnosed where he thought the problem was without looking properly. Told us to measure the tank ourselves while he went out to his van to get his flask. Seemed keen to book the job in for 9am the next morning which we couldnt do, so provisionally booked us in for the following morning. Quote was for the wrong tank and when pointed out he said “oh thats for a different job”. Wanted 60% of the total fee as a deposit and got very huffy when we said that we were prepared to pay 10% but no more on the basis wed only met him for 5 minutes. We declined to give him the 60% and cancelled the job. Wouldnt recommend him.

Second time using Steve English & would absolutely use again. He's provided advice and come to look at issues pretty much immediately on a number of occasions in previous houses. Most recently, our boiler kept losing pressure... due to excess limescale & a boiler with only a 2 year warranty (new build of 3 years) meant that the boiler needed replacing. Steve quoted well, for a brand of boiler that has a 5 year warranty and the job completed within 7 days of initial call-out - I would recommend Steve to friends and family alike.

Steve fitted a water filter system for us, promising us Evian quality water within a few days of installation. That was three months ago. Theres been absolutely no change to the quality of our water, and Steve doesnt reply to our phone messages or emails. £500 wasted on a useless water filter system.

We asked Steve to redo the plumbing throughout the house including installing a new boiler, water filter, central heating system and electrics. Steve started on the 25 June 2018. He asked for 50% of the overall cost upfront and for the first 2 weeks Steve turned up most days. Roughly 3 weeks into the work he asked for a further 40% of the money which we paid. I am afraid it was at this point that that Steve started to not turn up. We would call and message and either get no response or a message to say he would be there on a specified date and time and then would not turn up. We are now 6 months into the work and have an unfinished boiler (that has not been certified as “Gas Safe”) , various other plumbing jobs left unfinished and he has barely touched the electricals, leaving live wires hanging from the ceiling/ walls in our house. I would strongly advise that you do not use Steve for any big plumbing jobs. He has no durability to complete jobs and will leave you in the lurch.

I had a problem with boiler and whilst he fixed it he wasnt honest with the additional costs, £60 to collect a part, additional call out fee, because hes worth it. Hes not... Left me feeling stressed and out of pocket. Would not recommend to women he left me feeling intimated, pay now or he will take legal action. My advice ask for everything in writing.
