Taxis in Belper, Derbyshire

TAXI DRIVER RAN OVER MY CAT. BAD SERVICE AS WHEN I RING TO COMPLAIN I GET SPOKEN TO LIKE TRASH.

Terrible service. Do not use. 10 mins after agreed time we were told the taxi was 2 mins away. After another 10 mins we called and were told we didn't have a taxi because they hadn't confirmed it despite having a text to say our taxi was booked. Taxi showed up an hour late after several phone calls.

i called 2 hours before to book a taxi for the required time... guess what.... it never came. Why? Because first communication it was stuck in traffic second communication the train in Netherfield was passing... Result did not make it to my destination, cost me money and waisted my time... Suggestion if you want to get to your destination use any other company except Gedling

Excellent service

Used Belper cars a umber of times over the past few years when visiting a relative at Holbrook Hall. Only let us down once, and that was because the train was late! Relative has now passed away, but Belper Cars helped a great deal -they even recognised me on the phone and just said 'same as usual?'.

Don't bother using this taxi service. They overbook, sub-contract you to another taxi service, don't tell you and you stand waiting for Belper cars while another taxi (A6/Scotts) pulls up and then drives off without bothering to wind the window down and tell you they have come to pick you up. Both companies then blame each other for leaving you stranded. Belper cars couldn't even manage an apology. Would sooner walk than use this company!

Brilliant service, bang on time

I feel ripped off and conned by this company, no meter , not told it would be time and a half on a Sunday, dirty taxi and no customer service skills, just out to make money. Charged £10 for 1.8 miles trip that would have been 4.48 with Uber . Avoid!

Rip off. Changed the location on where I wanted to go once within the same village and he had a massive go at me and told me I was F ing him about and f ing him off. So rude and horrible. Would never use again.

Absolute rip off. Charged us £22 for one taxi and £32 for the other on tariff 3 at 10pm on a Sunday night to travel 6 miles.

I needed to book a taxi at short notice and quite urgently. I was so impressed with their considerate fast service and would highly recommend them thank you!

Received an approximate price from the taxi operator but the driver charged 50% more. Please be aware of this when choose Smart Cars.

Asked and booked a female driver for my wife and son 12 hours in advance and they send a man wouldnt trust them as far as I could through the.

I had a taxi back from pinxton with a small child who was not happy hence screaming I apologised to the driver for this his name was Paul had a Southern accent he said to my face it's OK however I have discovered that this driver told another drive Allan Clark I think his name is that he wanted to get hold of my child his words were drag him over the seat and belt /hit him If this is the type of people that drive these taxis then they seriously need to get rid of such people and for the other driver to find it highly amusing he should also be ashamed of himself I am in two minds to contact those who have the power to sort this problem out Bolsover as I am sure he wouldn't threaten adults absolutely disgusting if nothing is done then I will seek advice from Bolsover but not all their drivers are like that

I've just had a very pleasant journey with Mick - Car 20. He was very professional and even managed to swerve an idiot who was trying to dodge the traffic. Highly recommended!

Two different prices from Alfreton Train Station private hire was more expensive than on the meter and less traffic

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID Booked a taxi for 11.45 it never turned up. They never got in touch to tell us they were running late. We rang after 15 mins to be told they were behind but were on the way and would be a further 15 mins. Half an hour later still no taxi so we rang again to be told they were on their way, still no taxi turned up we were stood out in the cold and the rain the service is the worst I will never use them again

Turned up a hour late then drove off thinking my mate was drunk when he really has torettes/twitches which classes as a disability and 2 different drivers drove off after looking at my friend not even giving him a chance to get home causing him more anxiety. I had to ring his girlfriend and disturb her sleep to pick him up as Eastwood cars drivers wouldnt even give him and me a lift. Pure prejudice Disgusting inhumane judgemental acts judging before speaking to the custom. You should be ashamed

Used Bryan's Taxis today,to go to chinley. Driver was on time to pick me up,got to my destination on time.The Driver was polite and friendly. Would definitely use Bryan's Taxis again,

I would never get in one of these taxis on the basis that the driver (I'm presuming Bryan himself on this occasion) is so impatient that he would rather drive on the footpath nearly hitting my neighbours car than be patient with me whilst I try to get my car in a tight space outside my house. And then, to make things worse for him, he shouted out of his window "you need to learn to drive love".... This was unnecessary and very immature to say hundreds of people put their lives in his hands each month! Bang out of order and I will be reporting him higher up to be investigated for his own driving ability.

Couldn't fault the service. Caroline picked me up and was such a friendly lady. Felt totally looked after. Would definitely use this company again. I pre-booked her for my return journey. She was punctual and very pleasant. She knew which way to go to avoid the traffic. First-class service. Thank you so much Caroline!

I was left stranded at Tibshelf services... I called all the taxi services in the area and none could come and get me. A very kind lady picked me up within minutes and got me to Alfreton train station. I highly recommend Watchorn Taxis. LIFE SAVERS! Thank you again.

I was in Alfreton for the first time and didn't know my way around but the taxi service by Amber was great. Nearly missed my train on the way back but made it thanks to the excellent service and quick response. Would definitely recommend

Automated system unable to understand address gave up after 4 tries.There should be a person answering calls.

After using this service weekly I have finally given up after several bad experiences. I booked the taxi the night before for early travel (usually 6am) to get a 6:30am train. Although I book and pay in advance via the app, get charged and get a booking confirmation the taxi does not arrive at time. Today the taxi did not arrive at all. When I called the call centre team did not care at all. They had no comprehension that certain trips for trains and airports would be time sensitive In short, never use this service for advanced bookings if you need to be somewhere on time. The drivers themselves are nice enough but the company is poorly run and has terrible service. in a competitive business world these things just shouldnt exist and I suspect they wont last as a result

Very poor service. This used to be a good company but no more. Requested a taxi at midday. It didnt arrive. . Rang 20 minutes later to find out where it was, robotic voice said they had not been able to locate a driver. Waited another 20 minutes. Rang again, was put in a queue for 8 minutes then was cut off. Finally rang Albatros and they came straight away. This is the 3rd bad experience with Western. Wont use them again.

The standard of service provided by Western has declined significantly this year.Taxis are frequently late, even if prebooked, and often go to the wrong address. Wish I'd read these reviews before hand. Absolute joke of a company. Pre booked and paid for a taxi journey to the train station. Driver was 30 mins late for a 06.25 pick up. Had to make own way and when I enquired about a refund it was refused, to be told I should have allowed longer . Its a 5 minute journey so ample time was left. It was then blamed on traffic. Traffic on a bank hol Monday morning.. don't think so. Stuart Lyon needs a lesson in customer service!!!!

Nasty taxi driver. Incident occurred in morning. He was very disrespectful. It was a Toyota taxi and it was big just like his ego! Wont be booking from this company again.

Put discount coupons through my door, so thought i would give them a chance. £1 discount for a £5 pound journey. Be aware, they do not put the running fare for view. I had to ask them to do it. Horrified to see what they charge, roughly double from Windmill pub to Gleadsmoss Lane Oakwood. Or ir would have been if i didn't stop them and drop me off. Scam company. Do not use them.

I called pj taxi half an hour before I need it to book it for 6.45 , it was 6.5 and taxi was not at the place so I called again I the guy try to pretend that he don't hear me and he was ignoring my questions about my taxi he just said he is sending taxi to me right now. I have called them again and he just hang up the call while a was talking. Never had problem with them before but today's morning I was late at work and the guy on phone was rude and unprofessional

They have no respect for senior citizens, are unprofessional and not customer friendly. THIS BUSINESS SHOULD EITHER BE OFF THE ROADS OR ALL EMPLOYEES UNDERTAKE A COURSE IN MANNERS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
