Rude and disrespectful

I have been using Gilbert's over 25 years now.

Really bad, booked with disabled needs explained this was assured of help, but the drive refused any assistance - so mean spirited - what a horrible company

Paid for group booking gave them a tip in advance big mistake driver miserable & wanted more money give Gilbert a wide berth.

A local family taxi company well established with a great fleet of drivers and nice cars. Polite, punctual and good value too.

Awful. Lied to me 5 times and tried to blame me!

As with the other reviewer, I have consistently been let down by this company and am an equally disappointed customer. On several occasions, they have not sent a taxi even though I have clearly made a booking. Calling into their office, it sounds like they have no clue what they're doing and are full of unconvincing excuses. If you're lucky, they will eventually send a taxi but if you actually need to get somewhere at a specific time I would recommend choosing a different company. Very poor service indeed.

Prompt and efficient, but can only give 2* as the driver charged us £5 more than the £30 quoted over the phone even when this was explained to him. Not worth an argument for £5 so we paid. Should have got an email confirmed quote.

AWFUL - DON'T USE!!! The driver was late. Called him every 10 mins where he was. Kept saying 5 minutes more which after a few calls became 30 mins! Flight landed 12.40, I was out 12.50 and he didn't turn up until 1.30pm! The control centre couldn't understand why he was late as he did his last drop off at the airport at 12.40pm so what was he doing for 50 minutes? 1 - When he arrived he was slow as anything knowing I was in rush 2 - His car was so hot when I got in I had to ask him to put AC on (other taxis I have used have always been nice and cool and ready for customer 3 - He then fluffed around at the barrier for 5-10 minutes for a receipt. I counted at least 12 cars that went past us! Did he do this on purpose? 4 - Pulled up outside my son's school finally and I asked to be let out to get the money from my wife and he went mental. He locked me in the car and refused to let me out unless I gave him my phone. He insulted me saying how dare I get in his car without cash!

My favourite choice. Theyve never let me down.

Today one of one-time taxi's driver hit my daughter wing mirror as he was on her side of the road. He has disputed this fact saying you pay for my wing mirror and I'll pay for yours (really). It was clearly his fault and he taken no responsibility for the damaged caused. We visited the office and the Manager was rude and very dismissive saying that the driver has said it was not his fault, which if he had said it was I would have been very surprised. In her word you can report it to the Police and the Council. Extremely bad level of service and taking no accountability wasn't a surprise. On another occasion we took a taxi from on-time and was charged £35 to Stoke Poges from Maidenhead which was a complete rip off. Our return trip using another company was £16 what a difference. Do not use this company service is terrible and accountability when in the wrong none. I will be reporting to the Council in the morning I am disgusted. I had to click a star none deserved.
