Taxis in AL7

This company pretended to be the taxi firm I had booked a job with in order to steal the job. Had phonecall from my actual driver 10 mins into job. Your driver refused to answer me questioning why he had stolen job. Really unprofessional and actually dangerous. His number plate was WJ14 DVU

Called for a quote and got awful service from the controller who laughed at me when I read out the postcodes for her reference, they go by road names which is fine (although the only cab company I know that does it this way) but to receive a patronising response is not on. I then filed a complaint to which I received no apology just a 'she didn't laugh at you as I was standing right next to her'. Not only was the response uneducated with bad grammar and spelling it was also unprofessional. I am about to begin a long period of work for which I would have used Welwyn North Taxis daily, not anymore, using Mick's Cabs who were far more helpful and professional.

Never using this taxi service again. Completely unreliable, I booked the night before as I had an important train to catch and no taxi showed up the next morning. They were unreachable on phone and I had to take my car with me to the station. In the end I missed my train thanks to Captain Cars. terrible service USE ANOTHER TAXI COMPANY

I had a bad experience sitting Captain Cars yesterday. The drive charge me £4 for Hatfield (AL10 9BL) to Hatfield (AL10 8PD). After that he took my staff out from the car and throw it on the floor and drove off! Very rude and impolite attitude.

I would highly recommend this taxi firm, extremely reasonable prices, turn up on time and very pleasant to deal with via telephone and the driver was very nice and polite and car was clean.

Easy booking, polite controllers

A good friend of mine asked for a taxi from this company. He is disabled and in a wheelchair. When he arrived home the taxi driver took out the wheelchair but left in the wheelchair cushion and wanted to charge my disabled friend £15.00 to return it. I am disgusted and so is everybody else that he has spoken to. If an abled person left something then it is their fault. As the driver left it in there, then it is the driver's fault. In my opinion, this company's policy sucks and I for one will avoid them.

Where to begin? Made a formal complaint a few times about there drivers but had my last run in with them a day ago. Taxi was cancelled but driver showed up to my front door and asked for payment. Unfortunately I had to pay the guy or he wouldnt leave but called the office straight away and explained my situation. Asking for a refund back. Rude rude controller didnt give two flying F***s and never called me back either. For £5.25p I got hassled for after taxi was cancelled. DO NOT USE THEM. Drivers are scammy w****** and the staff in the office are no better just plain rude

My daughter bought and paid for a taxi. They kept telling her drivers were stuck in traffic but when she called again they said they had no drivers. She emailed their refunds email address but no refund forthcoming. When we called they asked us to email in again. Won't confirm they'll give refund. They left my daughter in a vunerable position. They wouldn't tell us the name of the manager/owner. Avoid they are as dodgy as hell!

Charged me on the app for two rides which were cancelled. App does not work and does not show location of driver. Scam do not use

Couldn't be better. Two texts before departure. Full car details in advance plus cost of journey up front. Arrived promptly. Courteous driver,, clean car. My new cab company of choice.

Terrible service; always late and staff cut the phone on customers; would have given no star at all but no option

I rang to book a taxi to take me to work after leaving my car at Glyn Hopkins. I couldn't remember the name of the road (though Glyn Hopkins is clearly visible from the main road) but gave the person who finally answered my call directions - ie other side of Notcutts roundabout on the way to St Albans, turning on the left. I repeated this five times, even spelling the "Glyn Hopkins". However, he just kept telling me he couldn't find it. I had not had this problem before. The gentleman's English was very difficult to understand and in the end I told him I would go elsewhere and hung up. I particularly wanted to use Hilltop as i know they have been in Hatfield for years and have recently had a crap deal from the Council re their accommodation - I have had no issues before, but would NEVER use them again.

Hypocrites. Would not recommend. They are friendly when making loads of money off you but the moment you make a complaint about something or something goes wrong out of your hands once,they forget all about the good times and become rude and aggressive towards you. Go as far as even lying not to always have a driver whenever they know it's you calling. Some of the drivers are racist as well. Horrible company imo. Terrible ethics and policy. Very poor. Very expensive - £18 on a Sunday for a trip from St Albans to London Colney -used to cost £10 last year. Left my phone in the car and despite tracking it straight away they would have alerted the driver, he charged me £20 to return it. Disgusting service and attitude, they should be ashamed of themselves and dont deserve any business, let alone tips on top of overpriced fares that the driver boasted about getting.

My son got picked up from work paid the cab then realised he left his phone in the cab he try to catch the driver as it went down the road but couldn't so he used my neighbor's phone to call up the company only to be charged $6.60 to drop it back he wasn't that far away what if an elderly person had left there belongings would they be charged for it to this is disgusting we pay enough money to get to where we need to be no help from the taxi company they didn't give a dam so all in all my son paid over $16.00 to come home from work surely this shouldn't happen most taxi drivers wouldn't charge simple needs looking into and stopped wat if my son didn't have the cash to get his phone back would the driver just drive off with it again I feel this was just greed and shouldn't happen I would like an answer to this please.

I called 3 different taxi companies in St Albans for a quote, Gold Line gave the best price (also most friendly sounding). I received an SMS with a tracking link so i could see where the driver was and it also showed the make/model/reg and name of the driver. Best service ever

Was charged £15 even though the meter read £10.50. The driver they charge extra at night but the strange thing is, I use the same company to travel at the same times and have always been charged between £8 - £10 according to the meter.
