Taxis in Stalybridge, Cheshire

Excellent taxi firm. I have used them for about 20 years at least once a week. Never had any bad experience with them. Always punctual, efficient, friendly, polite, helpful. Fares very reasonable and compare favourably with other taxi companies. Highly recommended.

Never ever will I use swift taxes in Stalybridge absolutely disgusting taking £10 off my 14-year-old daughter when it was supposed to be a £4 taxi journey the woman on the desk is absolutely rude and needs to get a new job I will never ever use this taxis firm ever again and will be telling everyone I no not to!

Very trusty, the only taxi firm my grandad used before he passed and the only taxi firm I trust.

Ordered a minibus and a taxi as we specifically needed it for a school trip I was organising, they said this would be no problem. Sent three taxis which meant we had to take three members of staff instead of two as we legally have to have a staff member in each vehicle. This is why we ordered a minibus and a taxi. This meant we were late for our event as we were short of lifts. Rang Swift and they were rude, unhelpful and weren't interested in assisting us. We will NOT be using them again. There are plenty of other decent taxi companies you can use round here.

Booked mini bus to The Airport. Lovely polite operator Very helpful . Mini bus turned up bang on time . Really nice helpful driver. Mini bus was lovely & clean too. Would definitely use their service again. Would definitely recommend.

It was a rainy day we have two children aged 2 and 4. We were visiting a farm and were taken to the station. When we arrived the driver did not help me take out our bags from the boot but complained how dirty his car was. He started to clean the seats and did not stop the meter, so it has charged us an extra pound till he finished with the cleaning. First of all, we took reasonable care to keep the car as clean as possible. Obviously the wellies would have leave some muddy spots and it was not a big deal. Secondly, it should have been expected by the driver. Thirdly, he should have stopped the meter when we arrived. Fourthly. if he was so keen of his car, he should have put some protection when he arrived on a rainy day on a farm and seeing two small children popping into his car. Fifthly, he should have clean the car after he unpacked our bags and we paid for trip. Lastly, he never should complain in front of a happy customer. Now he has missed the extra tip.

I have been using this taxi firm for 2 years would recommend to everyone.

Ordered a taxi at 8.06 for 9am as had an appointment at 9.15!! Taxi turned up at 9 25am!! No apology!!!!!shocking missed my appointment!!!

My mum rang this number to order a 7 seater taxi they said it was unavailable so she rang a different taxi number assuming it was a different taxi service and asked for a 7 seater again. Turns out the other number was there number aswell and the man was very very very rude to her raising his voice saying we've already told u once we don't have a 7 seater why u calling again. My mum apolgised and hung up. Both numbers were 0161628700/01616241212. I'm very angry at the way my mum was spoken to and immediately ordered her a taxi from limeline who were so helpful and informative. Avoid at all cost!!!!

Excellent service to and from the airport. I wont be travelling with any other company from now on. Both drivers were lovely.

Booked a taxi 3 hours in advance. It was late by 10 mins. Called only to be told it will be another 20 mins. Told time is of the essence and they are in breach of contract. Not happy. I will never use this firm again.

Appalling service pre booked weeks ago for party off 11 to rail station to get train for sightseeing trip to London they stated would send minibus and car ,when booked , minibus never turned up so lost out on all train fares and sightseeing excursion tour nearly thousand quid or more now ignoring all contact for compensation don't use them they are cowboys

Appalling service, don't use this company if you pre-book and expect your cab to turn up. I booked a 7 seater cab a week in advance to bring us home from a family dinner. When it failed to turn I rang the base and was told it would be over an hour late because all the cabs were in Manchester. I said that was unacceptable because I had a pre-booking and was told that if I had rung up for my taxi then I would have been told it would be an hour - but I had pre-booked !!!! I was given the option of two cabs but when I asked if they would honour the confirmed fare for the 7 seater I was told that I would have to pay more for both taxis. We eventually managed to get another company to send us a mini bus. Having read other recent reviews it seems this is a common occurrence.

Absolutely appalling service. Booked a taxi for 5:45pm to the airport. No one turned up. We rang at 6pm as they're 15 minutes late - no one answered - the phone was out of service or being hung up on me! We have had to ask a neighbour to take us last minute running 25 minutes late in rush hour traffic! Wouldn't even give this unreliable company one star if I didn't have to!

Further to my last message - train station, by the way, not training - the traffic was remarkably quiet in both directions. So they were lying through their back teeth (if they have any).

Ordered taxi for 3.30 from training station. Waited for 15 mins. Phoned and told unloading. They said would get driver to phone. I phoned again 10 mind later. Told he was stuck in traffic and another twenty minutes. Useless and rude staff. My family and I use to use service a lot. Last several times they've been late and unapologetic. Will never use them again.

Absolutely shambolic service. Taxi ordered the previous day to go to Manchester piccadillly. Didnt turn up kept being told it was 2 minutes away. Had to keep phoning as they still hadnt arrived 20 minutes later. Asked for a reduced fare if they did eventually arrive got £2 off!!! Then was so worried I wouldnt make the train asked if they would refund the train ticket if I missed it. They said they might refund part of the price!!!i said I would expect a full refund if I missed the train. Ive nit missed part of the journey. Then to cap it all I heard another operator talking to my so called taxi driver who was supposed to be with me by this time 15 minutes ago saying well shes kicking off what wonderful customer service!!!!!! Never again will I use the company. Have used it for nearly 20 years to go to the airport but they have definitely lost a valued customer and I will be positively encouraging others to avoid this DREADFUL taxi company.

My friend and I used Cartax to pick me up from Manchester airport. The plane was slightly delayed. I wandered round the airport lounge looking for the taxi driver, to no avail. Normally taxi drivers identify themselves but he was no where to be found. I eventually found him by WHSmith and when I told him who I was. He said to me 'you were lucky, I was just about to leave'. What would I have done then?

Just got a phone call from this number claiming to be from a housing association, sounded very fishy the questions she was asking, beware !!!!!

Pre Booked this company for 7th February turned up extremely late after several phone calls and numerous lies they then had the audacity to rip me off for a fare that is never normally more than £4.00 they charged me £12.20 then when I phoned to speak to the Manager (Keith) I was told he was out of office but they would get him to call me that evening or first thing the next morning (8th February 2022) it's now (16th February 2022) and I still await his call yet another lie!! If I could give this company zero stars I would so please please please avoid them at all cost they are lying, unreliable thieves

The most disorganised taxi company in Manchester. Booked a taxi and told it would arrive in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later told it was 4 minutes away. 40 minutes later again told it was 4 minutes away. The receptionist said he was "stationary at Smithfield Market and didnt know why". 3rd phone call another rude receptionist said there was nothing she could do. always seems to be the same with this company. Don't know why they can't be honest and say it will be 40 mins. Only given 1 star as wont let post with 0 star. Cancelled Taxi and booked with Tameside Cabs who arrived promptly as promised.

The most unreliable, clueless, bad mannered collection of incompetents Ive ever had the misery of dealing with! Just a lift at a certain time pre/ booked for weeks and they cant even keep to that!!! Leave them alone and let them go bust!!!!!!! Do NOT rely on this shower!!!

Booked a taxi last night to get come from my parents. Text message received to say look out fir white toyota auris. Waited outside also received automated call to state my car had arrived and i was waiting where the car should have been. Taxi was a "no show" and i ended up having to walk home. Terrible poor service i feel as a single woman left stranded

Utter rubbish. Female travelling alone. Ordered a can for 10pm from the train station. By 10:30pm the taxi still hadnt arrived. I called a neighbour to come and get me. Poor poor service. Rang them at 10:30 to politely cancel my taxi to be told ok. Will not use ever ever again.

Ordered a minibus for 12pm . Turned up 20mins late then had to stop to refuel further delaying journey. Best advice- if you need to be somewhere on time, order for half hour before you need to get there. Better still- AVOID THESE AMATUERS COMPLETELY !!!

I really dont understand how this company only has 2 stars. I always get Cavalier and use them at least 2 times a week for various things as I cant drive and often wake up late for work. Their drivers are friendly and are almost always here within 10 minutes of booking. Ive only ever had 1 real issue with cavalier since I started using them 3 years ago and the operators sorted my issue out almost immediately. Overall, a brilliant service

Always use Cavalier Cars when I visit for work. Always on time and drivers always very helpful. Cheap pricing too.

Ordered a taxi for dental appointment taxi did not turn up when phones told dint have one available I booked this over a week ago

Just refused to take me from Etihad stadium to Longsight saying that they not covering this area. Etihad stadium is in Ashton! I can't trust this company anymore.

Just to let you know I frequently use radio cabs and the journey this evening from Stockport road to Hartshead, pickup at 11.13 was really something to write home about! The taxi itself was clean and well maintained and the driver was polite and courteous and efficient, he assisted me in and out of the taxi which due to arthritis can be a chore for me. All in all, it was a pleasure riding with him. Full marks well deserved. Thank you.

Ordered a mini bus from Burlington street given full address on the phone tonight and was waiting outside.. when we got a call saying it's out side when it was not.. It didn't even turn the right way and went to holy trinity church on Burlington street .. so we phoned up and when they finally answered the phone they said it's been cancelled because know 1 was outside.. so ordered it again and we was watching his just saying up the road.. saying he was out side when not.. so phoned again and he turned round and came down the road and his way of talking down to us telling us it was not Burlington street were we was and telling me I don't know my own address that I've lived at for over 10 years.. I told him we told u the address if u haven't been told it then it's not our problem... so my granddaughter was to afraid to go in the taxi.. so we cancelled it and went some where else... I will never use them again xx disgraceful the shouldn't even get a 1 star...

Startax/Embassy/Z Cars or whatever you are calling yourselves today, you are absolutely disgraceful, we are stuck at the airport and being refused a taxi because your driver cant explain where he is, and this is a huge car park/a huge airport, both of us are Asthmatic, Ive already had an incident today due to how cold it is, and being sent on a wild goose chase around Manchester airport car parks, is not my idea of good customer service. I use your taxi firm all the time, and our pub puts a lot of business your way, and I cannot believe the way I have just been spoken to, when I tried to rebook a cab, my Husband was getting frustrated on the previous call as your driver wasnt making any sense at all. But to accuse ME of swearing is not only untrue, but an insult, the operator I spoke to refused to send another cab and hung up on me! Disgusting! I will be using a different firm from now on! #rude #ignorant #uncaring
