Taxis in Uckfield, East Sussex

Got in taxis having already pre paid on app.When the journey finished the metre said 4.40.I said to him ok its 4.40 then got out.When I checked the app he charged me 4.70.They are suppose to be trust worthy. I now feel he has let sussex cars done and will now try another taxis company.

Ordered a taxi. Never turned up. Phone not answered. Finally got though. Could not care less. No explanation. Rude and unhelpful.

No one answers after ringing 3 times sort your staffing out or admit defeat and sellout absolutely rubbish customer service

If I could give 0 stars I would. Possibly the worst service I have ever received. Taxi never showed up, the rudest telephonist ever. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Horrible service. Ordered a pet friendly taxi the day before travelling. In the morning a normal cab arrived with a confused rude driver who refused to take the dog. He contacted the office and they said that there are no pet friendly cars available at this time. Had to run to get to the vet's on time. Awful, incompetent company, will never use again.

Got a taxi just now location. Was a straight road down 1 mile and cost £9 started at £5.30. Before midnight how can these charges be charged. Have had your same company charge less for the same journey. Still gave your driver £10 but dont understand the extortionate prices

Jake cars is an amazing service. I really recommend this.

Jake's Cars are a local taxi service near me and were recommended by my son. I use them on a regular basis as I have some trouble walking. The service they provides brilliant. The lady that answers the phone, Debbie, is very nice and the drivers are smartly dressed, friendly and always turn up on time. I would recommenced them to others for the great service.

The staff are very friendly and they always turn up on time, if there is any reason they may be a little later than expected they let me know which is great. DO NOT USE - Called to book a taxi with Steve for 6am for an airport run. He was a no show and no communication to say they were late or not coming. Called multiple times with no answer. Left us with no other option than to rely on family members. Do not use.

Appalling service! We were totally let down on our daughter's wedding day in August. In May, we booked Steve of First Choice Cars to take the bride's mother, sister, 4 bridesmaids and photographer from the bride's home to the church, arriving at the house at 12.30pm for a 1pm service. We had confirmation on price and time of arrival from Steve Titus. On the wedding day, no taxi arrived. At 12.35pm the bride's mother rang Steve's landline and mobile numbers and left voicemail messages as no-one answered. The bride & her father were in the wedding car ready to go but, with no transport for the rest of the party, we had to resort to a small VW Polo which did two trips to and from the church to take us all there. Having had no response to our voicemails, we then emailed Steve of First Choice two days after the wedding to ask what the reason for his non-appearance was. We received no reply and no apology. This is absolutely APPALLING service - do not use them.

We booked a pick up two weeks in advance and were assured a cab would arrive. It didnt !! Couldnt get anyone on the phone or another cab so we had to cancel our night out.

Awful, we were left stranded at gatwick north 02.15 am with 2 children, they didn't turn up. Had to get a gatwick cab.

A very reliable and friendly service that I use to help me travel to rural holiday accommodation in the High Weald. Reliability takes the worry out of travelling to a holiday destination by public transport and the bonus of a friendly driver that knows the area well; unlike Uber.

Outstanding service, the drivers and staff are very accomadating and friendly, the cars are always very clean and tidy, I have always received a first class service from them would highly recommend them

Excellent service picking up a friend in Surrey and bringing to Crowborough, plus arranging the return trip.

I was loudly abused by a driver from this company while my car was parked outside a well known supermarket in crowborough. I had been hoping to take my severely disabled wife inside to do some shopping but decided against it following this person's completely unacceptable behaviour. I would not advise anyone to use this company. Their drivers are far too rude.

Shockingly poor performance from Ashdown Cars with the taxi failing to turn up altogether. It is truly amazing that this company is still in business.

Follow on with the previous review by Christopher, I would like to say that the stranger who picked you up is not a licenced taxi driver. In fact, I believed his name is Tim and he currently working at Ashdown Cars as a telephone personnel. He told me when he collected me in his personal car (which is NOT a licenced taxi) I have kept quiet up until now. Letter or a phone call to their council I think.

Shockingly unreliable, have had two occasions where booked taxi has not shown up and they have had no recollection of my booking. Would never recommend

I booked Andy to take my elderly neighbour to Haywards Heath hospital and back. He was very kind and helped her into the hospital and then up the stairs of her house on their return. She commented on how friendly and patient he was and has since booked him to take her to several more appointments. If you're looking for someone trustworthy and reliable, would definitely recommend.

I've used Andrew a few times now - excellent service, always reliable and reasonably priced for the car he drives.
